LOWER PROVIDENCE>>The Tenth Annual Cars & Motorcycles Show at Chadwick’s Restaurant & Bar in Audubon officially starts at noon on Sunday.

But everybody knows that on a nice fall day, which weather forecasters are saying it will be, motorheads will be rarin’ to go and show off their souped-up, classic cars, hot rods and antique showpieces around the time the sun comes up.

“The time on our flyer says 12 to 4, but car guys don’t pay attention to that … they will start pulling in by 8:30 a.m.,” said Larry Baldassano, who is again organizing the Toys for Tots benefit with Bill Sweeney.

“I believe we had 182 cars last year.

We are expecting more this year because it is the 10th year and we’ve added more trophies and also added door prizes for the first time.”

The yearly extravaganza of factory-stock and intensely modified vehicles collects toys in lieu of registration fees, which then help the United States Marine Corps play Santa to hundreds of kids for its Toys for Tots program.
